Rewilding Europe | Roaming horses in the Danube Delta

Rewilding Europe. A European initiative actively promotes rewilding and biodiversity in endangered natural landscapes in Europe. Horses play a significant role as equine conservationists in landscape maintenance – their grazing behaviour makes them particularly well suited for this. A herd of twenty Konik horses had been released in December 2020 onto an island in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta.

Konik Horses – In The Vicinity Of Berlin

Konik horses originating from Central and Eastern Europe. The horses of this robust pony breed are increasingly used as landscape keepers – as equine conservationists in European nature reserves, alongside Przewalski horses and cattle species. Konik is the Polish word for pony or small horse. Konik horses live in the Geltinger Birk at the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany, in the Polish Białowieża National Park, Oostvaardersplassen in the Netherlands and also in the Barnim of Berlin-Brandenburg.

Oktoberfest, the Wiesn in Munich attracts countless visitors from all over the world every year with typical culinary delicacies such as pretzels and obazda, Steckerlfisch and of course, with products of local brewing art. The Oktoberfest offers people from Munich and the surrounding area a good two weeks of exuberant celebration of their traditions, wearing traditional costumes – dirndls and leather trousers.

WEG 2014 in France. The medals have already been awarded – World Equestrian Games in France – an emotional roller-coaster ride. Beautiful landscapes, fabulously beautiful pictures of endurance riders on the beach in front of Mont Saint Michel. I am not sure if I have ever seen anything more beautiful, later the news of catastrophic track conditions and their fatal consequences appeared.
