Mecklenburg – fine travel destinations in the north-eastern part of Germany. There are many opportunities to explore Mecklenburg visiting castles and manor houses, enjoying the wonderful landscape. Travel by car, by bicycle or with a horse. And for those who like the art of slow travel, why not traveling as a passenger of a carriage, dipping into fairytale scenarios of past times?
Nazaré. The small Portuguese coastal town is world famous for giant waves and surfers facing massive forces of nature, mastering some of the largest waves on the planet with their surfboards. At the beginning of March the atmosphere is very special, in the almost empty holiday resort – almost mystical.
The Irish National Stud in Tully, County Kildare is the heart of Irish thoroughbred breeding. Irish National Stud and Gardens is considered a tourist attraction, but the National Stud has also been a functioning stud for over 100 years with the main aim of breeding thoroughbreds for Ireland that can win at home and abroad.
Oktoberfest, the Wiesn in Munich attracts countless visitors from all over the world every year with typical culinary delicacies such as pretzels and obazda, Steckerlfisch and of course, with products of local brewing art. The Oktoberfest offers people from Munich and the surrounding area a good two weeks of exuberant celebration of their traditions, wearing traditional costumes – dirndls and leather trousers.
WEG 2014 in France. The medals have already been awarded – World Equestrian Games in France – an emotional roller-coaster ride. Beautiful landscapes, fabulously beautiful pictures of endurance riders on the beach in front of Mont Saint Michel. I am not sure if I have ever seen anything more beautiful, later the news of catastrophic track conditions and their fatal consequences appeared.
Iceland is at the top of many riders’ and travellers’ bucket lists. The small island state high in the north captivates with breathtaking, almost extreme landscapes and natural highlights – glaciers, volcanoes, geysers – green meadows, rocks and sea, but also with friendly people, numerous horses and a rich creative cultural scene.
Devon Exmoor National Park , wild horses and an impressive coastline. Right after visiting the Badminton Horse Trials my journey continued south after spending one day in Bristol. A great highlight of a trip to Devon is the Exmoor National Park with its free roaming horses and diverse landscapes.
De Hollandsche Manege – a cultural treasure in Amsterdam, is the oldest riding school in the Netherlands. Built in 1882, this special riding stable is still used by riding students. Riding in this special atmosphere, should be an exquisite experience for the riders.
